Comparison
Great number of heating units. High probability of one or several tubular electric heaters failure with partial or complete loss of a TEH function.
Great number of sealing joints (tubular electric heaters and flanges). There is the necessity of constant control. If water treatment is poor intensive scale deposit and the clogging of a boiler and a system with sludge occurs because of high watt load on the TEH surface. Great number of electric contacts (TEHs and flanges) in the zone of high temperature action requires constant maintenance of appropriate electric contact. It leads to the system complication. Life time of the TEH depends on a heat carrier quality (1000 hours without taking actions on water softening, 5000 hours – with taking actions). High cost of operation. There is the necessity of TEHs, shims and semiconductor switches periodic replacement.

The heater reliability is almost absolute due to the absence of heating units. Absence of sealing joints. Absolute absence of electric contacts in the zone of high temperature action doesn’t require special measures to maintain appropriate electric contact. The VIHs haven’t got hightemperature units and a heatexchange apparatus. Temperature difference between the heat exchanger case and the heat carrier is not more than 1015°С. Life time is more than 30 years without special service (100000 hours).
